Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy
Alpha Signal Pro is committed to preventing its Platform from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions evasion, or any other unlawful activity. This policy describes the controls we have implemented in alignment with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) and the rules issued thereunder by the Government of India and the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND).
1. Customer due diligence (CDD)
We verify the email identity of every subscriber at signup. For paid plans above INR 50,000 per year or for any subscription showing suspicious patterns, we require additional KYC documentation before activation:
- PAN card (full number, verified against the income-tax database where possible);
- Aadhaar card (last 4 digits only โ we never store the full number);
- Recent utility bill or bank statement (address proof);
- For institutional clients: certificate of incorporation, board resolution authorising the signatory, and KYC of the authorised signatory.
Failure to provide requested KYC within 7 days results in subscription cancellation and full refund (no activation occurs).
2. Politically exposed persons (PEPs)
We screen every new subscriber against publicly available PEP lists. If you are a Politically Exposed Person (or a close relative/associate of one), we may apply enhanced due diligence including senior-management approval before activation and periodic re-screening during the subscription.
3. Sanctions screening
We screen subscribers, payment origins, and broker bindings against the consolidated sanctions list maintained by the United Nations Security Council, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the United States, and the Indian government. Any match results in immediate account suspension pending review.
4. Payment screening
All payments are received via UPI from Indian bank accounts only. We do not accept:
- Cash;
- Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, USDT, etc.);
- Third-party transfers (the UPI remitter name must match the subscriber name);
- International wire transfers;
- Credit/debit card payments (we may add this in the future with 3D-Secure mandatory);
- Payments from sanctioned jurisdictions.
Suspicious payment patterns (multiple small payments just under reporting thresholds, payments from unrelated third-party accounts, rapid subscription upgrades followed by refund requests) are flagged for senior review.
5. Transaction monitoring
We monitor account behaviour for indicators of money laundering or fraud:
- Multiple license keys purchased from a single UPI account;
- Subscription purchases followed by immediate refund requests (refund arbitrage);
- License keys shared across geographically-dispersed broker accounts;
- Unusual patterns of decisions requested with no actual trades reported;
- Sign-up from sanctioned jurisdictions via VPN.
6. Suspicious transaction reporting (STR)
Suspicious transactions are reported to the Financial Intelligence Unit โ India (FIU-IND) per the PMLA rules. We are required to file an STR when we have reasonable grounds to suspect that a transaction may involve the proceeds of crime or be used for terrorist financing. STR filings are confidential โ the customer is not informed.
7. Record keeping
We maintain the following records per PMLA requirements:
- Customer identity records: 5 years after the business relationship ends;
- Transaction records (payments, refunds, license activations): 5 years from the date of transaction;
- STR filings and supporting evidence: 5 years from the date of filing.
8. Employee training & awareness
All Alpha Signal Pro employees and contractors undergo annual AML training. Staff are trained to recognise red flags, escalate suspicious activity, and never "tip off" a customer about an ongoing STR investigation. New employees complete AML training before being granted access to customer data.
9. Compliance officer
Our designated Compliance Officer is responsible for:
- Maintaining this AML policy;
- Approving enhanced due diligence cases;
- Filing STRs with FIU-IND;
- Liaising with regulatory and law-enforcement authorities;
- Conducting annual AML risk assessments.
The Compliance Officer is reachable at compliance@alphasignalpro.in.
10. Penalties for non-compliance
Attempts to use the Platform for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, or fraud result in:
- Immediate account suspension;
- Forfeiture of any active subscription without refund;
- Permanent blacklisting across all Alpha Signal Pro products;
- Reporting to FIU-IND and relevant law-enforcement agencies;
- Cooperation with any criminal investigation, including disclosure of all customer records.
